The Soul of Seoul
Last night I got into Seoul after a delayed flight. I met Saeeun at the Renaissance and we went back to her flat in Yeoksam. Then we went for a late night Korean dinner in the coolest place. A very simple traditional restaurant in an old house with tables outside owned by a cool saxaphone playing man. It was so great to sit outside and eat some spicy octopus and chijimi and feel the heart of Korea. Korea is just so different from Japan. The people seem scary at first but once you break the barrier you see that Koreans are so personal and real. There is no fakeness here. It’s so great to be back and to be with Saeeun, someone I can really talk to and an old friend that I could converse with for hours upon hours.
